TaizÉ-style music and prayer workshops

As founder and director of the Taizé-style worship service at Calvary Baptist Church of Denver, Brad Berglund has become a leading spokesperson on Taizé-style ministry in the local church. Recently, in cooperation with ten area churches, Brad hosted two of the Taizé brothers for an ecumenical weekend of worship in Denver. He currently directs an association of local churches worshipping in the style of the Taizé community.

More than music, the Taizé community offers a unique ministry of reconciliation by attracting young people from all over the world to their week long "meetings." Since he has traveled to Taizé many times, his workshops on this topic include education about the community and its ministry. In addition to hands-on instruction in their music and prayer style, Brad presents an expansive view of this richly faceted ministry.

His presentations can be designed to fit the needs of your church or retreat and include slides, music and video.

Current Taizé Workshop Offerings

1. Saturday morning: 9 a.m. TO 12:30 p.m.

This workshop includes:

	An overview of the community — its history and current ministry.
	Hands-on instruction in the music and prayer style.
	How to put a Taizé-style prayer service together for your church.
	A closing prayer in the Taizé style lead by Brad and the musicians present at the workshop.

2. Friday night 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

This workshop includes:

	An overview of the community — its history and current ministry.

	Deeper instruction in scripture reading and the prayer of silence.
	How to put a Taizé-style prayer service together for your church.
	Exploration of how Taizé music fits into Sunday morning worship
	A closing prayer in the Taizé style lead by Brad and the musicians present at the workshop.

3. A weekend Taize- style retreat: Friday evening to Sunday noon

This workshop includes:

	An overview of the community — its history and current ministry.
	Hands-on instruction in Taizé music and prayer style.
	Deeper instruction in scripture reading and the prayer of silence.
	And in-depth look at the practical steps in creating a Taizé-style prayer service for your church.
	Exploration of how Taizé music fits into Sunday morning worship.
	Personal exploration of prayer forms including silence, praying with icons and intercessory prayer.
	Multiple prayer experiences in the Taizé style lead by Brad and the musicians present at the workshop.
	Time to explore the practical applications of the ministry of reconciliation for your own life and the churches in your area.
